At the end of September, I will be leaving St Katharine’s Retreat House after 7 and a half years. I have been blessed, and privileged, to have been the Director here to see the House recover from such a precarious place. But the time is now right to hand the baton on to the next person. I am so proud of all that we have been able to do here throughout this time (I recapped a lot in my previous newsletter in February) and the lovely feed-back we regularly receive affirms that ‘we (the team) are doing something right’.
We give all the glory to Jesus and His guiding, through both the good and the more challenging times.
I am glad and thankful that I leave the house in a good place and still remain excited about all that the future holds.
Please pray for this transition period, the trustees as they go through the recruitment process, those being nudged to apply for the role, and particularly for the staff during this period of change – they work very hard behind the scenes.
Gill (my wife), who has been the Kitchen Manager/Cook for the last 2 years will also be leaving at the same time. We ask that you will pray for us both as we look forward to all that lies ahead.
With an encouraging response to our retreats and quiet days this year, we have 2 planned led-retreats remaining this year.
