Praying With Poetry – a retreat with Amy Scott-Robinson

April 29 @ 5:30 pm - May 1 @ 2:00 pm

£240.00

Take some time out to explore the world of poetry and prayer. We will be reading the work of some prayerful poets, reading some other poetry prayerfully, and praying through our own writing. Whether you are already a writer and reader of poetry, or have no experience of it, this retreat will give you the space to enrich your prayer life in the beautiful words and rhythms of poetry.

A few words from Amy…

“I am so looking forward to exploring poetry and prayer with you!

Over the three days we spend together, we will be looking at ‘tiny poems’ and the value of metaphor, responsorial prayer/poetry, and the poetry of passion. Copies of any poems we look at together will be provided.

On the second evening, there will be an opportunity to share and celebrate poetry together:

  • please bring a handful of favourite poems (which don’t have to be linked to prayer!) to share,
  • and do feel free to bring your own writing as well if you have some.”

———————————————————-

Arrival is through the afternoon on the Monday in time for 5:30pm. All meals are included, along with tea/coffee throughout. The retreat will end after lunch on the Wednesday.

To book your place or request further details, please email: office@srpf.org.uk or call the office on 01494 881037.
